Hot Springs Guides gives Green Canyon its fullest write-up anywhere: a privately owned resort along Canyon Creek with three outdoor pools from 96 to 115 degrees, a 55 degree cold plunge, a big indoor pool, a campground with tent and RV sites, a snack bar and picnic areas, open year round on seasonal hours. It credits the canyon setting with giving the place a sheltered, wooded feel you do not find in the open country around it.
The history runs from Native peoples and Robert Stuart's 1812 camp to the Pincocks' first pool in 1903 and one family since 1953. The guide calls it the closest developed hot spring to Rexburg, about two hours from West Yellowstone, and a full-day stop for families, with swim camp for kids five and up and private pool rentals for groups who want the water to themselves.
